India has won the toss and asked new entrants Afghanistan to bat first in the Group C Match at the Beausejour Stadium in Gros Islet.

India has won the toss after MS Dhoni has rightly called 'Tails' and he has asked new entrants Afghanistan to bat first in the Group C Match at the Beausejour Stadium in Gros Islet. Dhoni's decision is influenced based on the fact that there is some moisture in the pitch. Afghanistan will have a difficult task against the swing and seam from the trio of Zaheer, Praveen and Nehra to begin with. Dhoni reckons that this pitch may not be assisting the spinners.

The four players sitting out of the match for India according to MS Dhoni are Rohit Sharma, Vinay Kumar, Piyush Chawla and Dinesh Karthik. Well Afghanistan are an unknown side and the only thing that we know for now is that their Skipper's name is Nowroz Mangal.

The ground is a pretty long one and there wouldn't be many easy sixes or even boundaries for the batsmen. There should be plenty of twos and threes that have to be taken. The outfield is expected to be on the heavy side!

Afghanistan : Noor Ali, Mohammad Shahzad (WK), Nowroz Mangal (C), Hamid Hassan, Raees Ahmadzai, Mohammad Nabi, Samiullah Shenwari, Asghar Stanikzai, Shapoor Zadran and Dawlat Ahmadzai

India : Murali Vijay, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni (C&WK), Yusuf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra
