West Indies have named a 15-man squad led by all-rounder Darren Sammy for the 2-Test Match Series against Bangladesh next month. Veerasammy Permaul, who has led the West Indies A team recently is the only uncapped player in the 15-man squad. Permaul is a 23-year-old left-arm spinner from Guyana who already has six years of first-class cricket experience. He has also played for the West Indies U-19 in the past.
Out of the West Indies test squad are opener Adrian Barath and fast bowler Fidel Edwards. Two of West Indies’ promising batsmen – Darren Bravo and Kirk Edwards make a comeback after recovering from their respective injuries. West Indies are scheduled to play in two Tests, five ODIs and one T20I during their tour of Bangladesh between November 3 and December 12. The final schedule of the tour is yet to be announced.
