The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 matches fixtures will begin on Oct 05, 2023.

The tournament is set to begin at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad when defending champions England will take on the 2019 runners-up New Zealand. The big World Cup clash between India and Pakistan will also be held at the same venue on 14th Oct, 2023. New Zealand will take on Australia on 28th Oct, 2023 at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, and England will take on Australia on 4th Nov at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

First time in history, the tournament will be played without two-time champions West Indies as they failed to qualify for the main event after losing to Scotland, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and Netherlands in the World Cup qualifier. Sri Lanka and the Netherlands qualified for the mega event after playing World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe. Afghanistan and Bangladesh got the World Cup ticket directly after their superb campaign in the World Cricket super league. India qualified as the hosts. Australia, New Zealand, England, South Africa, and Pakistan booked their spot with their World Cricket super league performance.

The deadline to announce the final squads for the World Cup is 30 days before the World Cup 2023 event commences. As per a few media reports, India will be announcing their squad in the first week of September 2023.
